Justice for Vincent Simmons 34 years in prison
Imagine, you have been imprisoned for almost 34 years and have been attempting to prove your innocence. Every court refuses to hear your Brady claims and all of them hides behind technicalities. Also in spite of all the evidence that points to your innocence, you cannot get a new trial. And knowing you are innocent you have to remain in prison for the rest of your life and die there.
Read more about the case of Vincent Simmons, a 59-year-old black man from Louisiana. He has been an inmate of the Angola prison for over 34 years. He was convicted by an all white jury. His court appointed attorney never called any witnesses or cross examined any on his behalf. He never filed one single motion. The officials in Vincent’s case changed the charges, without informing the jury, so they were definitely sure that they could put him away for the rest of his life.
